According to the latest statistics, 8 million children in China suffer from burns and scalds each year, with 85% of these incidents occurring when parents are not supervising. To welcome Children's Day and enhance family safety awareness, on May 27th, Beijing Bakang joined hands with Xining Road Community in Mentougou District to hold a public science popularization event themed "Scar-Free Childhood, Happy Children's Day" at the community square. The event attracted active participation from many families in the community.
1. Event Scene: Fun Science Popularization, Protecting a Scar-Free Childhood
"Can applying toothpaste or soy sauce after a burn help relieve pain?"
"Should blisters from a burn be popped?"
Dr. Xu Zhengwei from Beijing Bakang answered parents' questions one by one on-site and corrected common incorrect first aid methods. Through real case explanations, parents deeply understood the harm of "folk remedies" and learned how to respond scientifically.
2. Five-Step First Aid, Hands-On Teaching
"Rinse, Remove, Soak, Cover, Send" - five simple steps that can save lives in critical moments!
Medical staff used posters, booklets, and temperature-sensitive stickers to guide parents and children through practical drills for burn first aid, ensuring that every participant mastered the correct emergency response methods.
Community Response was Overwhelmingly Positive
Parent: Hope to have more such events!
"When my child got burned before, our whole family was in a panic. Today, we finally learned the right way to handle it!" - Aunt Li (community parent)
"The experts from Bakang explained everything clearly, even the children remembered 'the first thing to do when burned is to rinse with cool water!'" - Father Zhang (participant)
Let's make childhood less painful and more safe!
As a pioneer in the field of scar prevention and treatment in China, Bakang always believes that the best treatment is prevention, and the deepest care is protection. In the future, we will continue to work with communities and families, using professionalism and warmth to weave a safety net for children, making a "scar-free childhood" not just a slogan, but a tangible and happy part of every child's daily life.
