On September 6, 2025, the Beijing volunteer team from Bakang Medical fully supported the "4th Prevention of Childhood Burns and Scalds Awareness Week." This event was organized by the Burn and Scald Care Public Welfare Fund of the China Social Welfare Foundation. Over the years, the National Childhood Burns and Scalds Prevention Education Project has received strong support from various sectors including the government, medical, education, and public welfare.
At the opening ceremony, Hu Yajie and Sun Bianyou, the founders of the Burn and Scald Care Public Welfare Fund, emphasized that preventing burns and scalds is a crucial line of defense for children's safety and a public welfare cause that requires the participation of the entire society. Only by uniting the efforts of the government, medical, education, and community sectors can we build a solid safety barrier for children. The purpose of this awareness week is to raise more awareness about childhood burns and scalds and to disseminate prevention and first aid knowledge to every family.

A significant achievement announced at the opening ceremony brought great excitement to all those concerned with children's safety—the prevention and first aid knowledge of burns and scalds has been officially included in the third-grade textbook of Physical Education and Health published by the People's Education Press and the seventh-grade textbook of Life Science Safety in Tibet. This marks the integration of childhood burns and scalds prevention education into the national compulsory education system, allowing more children to systematically learn protective knowledge from an early age.
The inclusion of "burns and scalds knowledge in textbooks" is the result of a long and solid process. Professor Ma Yinghua, Deputy Director of the Institute of Child and Adolescent Health at Peking University School of Public Health, shared the process of incorporating burns and scalds prevention and first aid knowledge into the textbooks and outlined plans for further popularizing this knowledge in the primary school education system.

This year's awareness week launched the "0-6 Years Old Health and Safety Science Popularization Action for Preventing Childhood Burns and Scalds" project. The launch ceremony was attended by Song Wenzhen, former Executive Deputy Director of the State Council's Working Committee on Women and Children; Duan Leilei, Chief Researcher of the Injury Prevention and Mental Health Room at the Chronic Disease Center of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention; Professor Ma Yinghua from Peking University School of Public Health; and Professor Wu Jun, former Chairman of the Chinese Medical Association's Burn Medicine Branch and Director of the Burn Department at Shenzhen University First Affiliated Hospital, among others.
During the event, there was also an honor recognition segment. Bakang Medical was awarded the "Love Enterprise" certificate for its outstanding contributions to supporting the development of burn and scald prevention projects and promoting scientific knowledge. This honor not only acknowledges Bakang Medical's past efforts but also encourages its continued involvement in the cause of protecting children from burns and scalds.
During the awareness week, the Beijing volunteer team from Bakang Medical provided science education to experts, parents, and children attending the event. One volunteer shared after the event: "Seeing the children learning protection knowledge so earnestly, I feel that all our efforts are worthwhile. The more we explain, the more parents remember, and the safer the children will be."
Since the establishment of the Burn and Scald Care Public Welfare Fund, Bakang Medical has been part of the childhood burns and scalds science education team, and they have been working together for 11 years. They have witnessed the transformation of childhood burns and scalds science education from being "of interest to a few" to "collaborative promotion by multiple parties," and have seen the implementation of milestone achievements such as "knowledge in textbooks" and "low-age special actions."
